This half day class will allow you to try many different types of kayaks, including Sea Kayaks (Touring kayaks), Recreational Kayaks, and Sit-on-Tops. Learn basic strokes and the differences between each boat type. This class also focuses on essential water safety, and how to maximize your fun! Class runs from 9:00AM to 1:00PM. In this inspiring class we work extensively on boat lean and edging for ultimate control and maneuverability. We review rescues, introduce basic navigation techniques, fine tune the forward stroke, and learn some new strokes. This class is the stepping stone to the Surf Zone and beyond.

Two day intermediate course taught on the South Fork of the American River in Coloma, California. After graduating from our Whitewater 101 course, take this class for a smooth transition into the realm of down river paddling. Let the adventure begin!

This is a great beginning trip for graduates of the Kayak Basics class. You can introduce a friend to kayaking by paddling together in one of our stable doubles. Now scheduled for Saturday evenings! Start time: 4:30PM; Please try to arrive at least 30 min early. We are on the water at 5:00 PM. PLEASE BE ON TIME - IT IS IMPRACTICAL FOR THE GROUP TO WAIT FOR LATE ARRIVALS! Cost: $15 per person ($5 for participants with own kayaks and gear). Space is limited so book early! NOTE:The Willow Creek site access site has been renovated and is now open.
