Stand Up Paddleboarding 101 (Oakland)    $79
                  
By now you've probably seen Stand Up Paddlers, seemingly walking on water! Check out this wonderful new sport! Give Stand Up Paddling a try in our introductory SUP class. SUPing has become incredibly popular in a few short years because it's so fun, easy, and another GREAT way to get on the water. (It's good for you, too.) No previous paddling or surfing experience is necessary. This 3-hour session in the sheltered water of the Oakland Estuary (launching from our dock at Jack London Square) will get you started, and you'll be cruising in style in no time. Our SUP boards are great for novices - great for rentals, too, once you've completed the class.
Start time: 9:00 am
Private lessons can be scheduled upon request; private instruction is $79/hour per person, limited to 5 persons maximum. (2 hours minimum for private sessions).

Prerequisites: Prerequisites: Good physical condition is important to assure an enjoyable class; however, no previous SUP experience is necessary. The minimum age for the SUP 101 is 14 years; children under 18 years must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Private lessons for children under 14 can be arranged upon request.

SUP Yoga AM (Sacramento)   
        
For newbies or experienced yoga practitioners.
This class will ease you into stand up paddle boarding and SUP yoga. Enjoy a relaxing morning yoga paddle session on serene Lake Natoma. Enjoy the calm and serene water and cool morning temperatures as you exercise your body, mind and spirit. This class starts with a short on shore lesson followed by an enjoyable time spent in the calm protected cove at Willow Creek on Lake Natoma. Here we will learn and practice a set of yoga postures geared towards connecting your body, breath and mind. It is a guaranteed stress reliever that will leave you feeling empowered and centered. Date and Time: The morning SUP Yoga sessions run from 9am - 11am on the day indicated.
Our SUP boards are great for novices - great for rentals, too, once you've completed the class.

SUP 201 (Oakland)    $79
                  
You've had some solid instruction in SUP and are now ready to develop the skills needed to paddle effectively in wind, waves and current! We'll review fundamental stroke technique, then get you practicing new moves that will have your board dancing on the water with maneuvers such as: nose rudder, cross-board draw, paddling in the surfer stance, and bracing strokes. As we paddle out into the Oakland Estuary, "blending strokes" becomes more natural while practicing upwind, downwind and cross wind paddling. It's all about moving your board where you want it, and having more fun while doing it!
Start time: 9:00 am

Introduction to SUP Downwind Paddling (Oakland)    $89
                  
There is nothing more fun than paddling a Stand Up Paddleboard downwind! Join SUP experts Matt Palmariello and Jeff Burton for an introduction to the skills and knowledge required to make your downwind paddle session fun and safe! Participants need previous SUP experience and should already be comfortable paddling a SUP in a controlled manner in light winds. After discussing some theory, safety, necessary preparation, and a warm-up in calm water, we will embark on a short (approximately 90 minute) downwind paddle!
Duration: 4 hours (2:00 pm - 6:00 pm)
Location: Oakland Estuary
Prerequisites: SUP 201, or equivalent training. Participants need previous SUP experience and should already be comfortable paddling a SUP in a controlled manner in light winds. Good physical condition is important to assure an enjoyable class! The minimum age for this clinic is 14 years; children under 18 years must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Wednesday Evening SUP Social (Sacramento)    $29
                  
Let CCK help you get over the mid-week hump. Join CCK for a relaxing evening social paddle experience on a Stand Up Paddle Board. The great thing about SUP (Stand Up Paddling) is that you get a great, low impact work out without even knowing it is happening. Relax in the warm summer evening temperatures; meet new friends, pick up some great paddling tips and techniques. Don't let this summer pass you by sitting on the couch in you air conditioning. Cool off at the Lake on a SUP.
Join the paddle for only $10 with your own board and paddle!! ~ Bring cash and pay at the paddle

TIME: 6:00pm - 8:00pm Please arrive at least 15 min early. We are on the water by 6:15 PM. PLEASE BE ON TIME - IT IS IMPRACTICAL FOR THE GROUP TO WAIT FOR LATE ARRIVALS!
Prerequisites: In order to ensure safe group management and an enjoyable session for all participants, previous SUP experience or completion of our SUP 101 class are required. Fist time Stand Up Paddlers should sign up for our SUP 101 class, or first rent a SUP from California Canoe & Kayak at Willow Creek before joining the Social Paddle.

Pre-Race SUP Clinic (Sacramento)    $49
                  
Are you into SUP racing? Want to learn work on your turns? Need to improve your close quarters paddle stroke? Come join us for a Pre-Race SUP tune up clinic. We will work on body position, engaging the core, stroke cadence, bow steering, cross-bow forward-strokes, and buoy turns. This two hour race primer will take you out of you normal paddle rut and put you on the right path for success in your next race. Weather you are new to racing & fitness or a seasoned racer you can benefit from this class.
