This leisurely introduction to sea kayaking takes place in the large protected area of Pillar Point Harbor, a perfect "playground" for kayakers. This is a great way to get outdoors and enjoy the natural setting of the lovely San Mateo county
coast side region. From the seat of a kayak you can get up close and personal with harbor seals, marine birds and other wildlife. Conditions allowing, we may paddle out of the harbor to explore the open ocean, drift among the kelp beds and spot the resident sea otter!
For first time paddlers, we recommend tandem kayaks for ease of use, stability and sharing the fun! Tandem kayaks are excellent for team-building exercises, too, if that is your goal. Our enthusiastic staff will give a brief orientation to the equipment and strokes, then guide you on a tour of the area. After the trip, you can visit one of the fine restaurants in the area. Make it an extra-special weekend with a B & B stay on the coast! (Call us for a list of lodgings)
NOTE:
All trips are subject to last minute (on the day of the event) cancellation due to weather, hazardous seas, or other safety considerations.
